Our Board members and volunteers have a wealth of experience and expertise. For example, our maintenance and construction crew has built dozens of houses both in and out of the United States, and can organize a crew of 25 to 50 volunteers. The case manager and the program coordinator for the Supportive Services for Veterans Families (SSVF) program for five counties, James Stafford, is on our board. We also have volunteer case managers from Cumberland County Housing and Re-development Authority and Carlisle Cares.
We have physicians, nurses and an EMT on our healthcare team, in addition to the dental and healthcare services at Sadler Health Center in Carlisle. Our nutrition and healthy food team includes a home economics teacher and the education director, Joe Kloza, at Project Share-- a food bank which provides food distribution on a regular basis.
Our legal team includes students and faculty from PSU/Dickinson Law School along with pro-bono lawyers from our community. And our housing team includes property owners and a former county commissioner.
Our NOAH Coalition, in partnership with multiple community partners, has the following collaborative goal: Improved access for those experiencing homelessness to permanent, affordable housing and a community-wide system of support and assistance that builds individual and family resilience, good health, independence and eviction prevention.
